About us

Who is Ricardo Jorge Correia? What is Adamastor?

The Portuguese are renowned sailors, and our 800km coastline draws us to the water. Ricardo, also known as “El Professor” or “The Captain,” is a pioneer swimmer in the Algarve. Born in 1980, his love for the sea, sea creatures, and the geology of Portugal is unparalleled.

Ricardo has a degree ins sports Science , specialised in Swimming and a swim coach since 1997, head coach since 2006 in a local swim club.
With over 200 race starts, including open water races and triathlons, Ricardo’s transition from pool to ocean was seamless. A multi-time winner of the Algarve Open Water circuit, Ricardo brings his extensive experience and passion for the sea to Adamastor Swim Adventures.
